As the Calderdale Housing Campaign is launched, we receive the news that this application (see News from planning battles around Calderdale ) has been refused by the Council under its delegated powers. Here is the decision letter.

It seems that the developer was also 'not prepared to provide affordable housing as part of the scheme due to the high level of development costs associated with this site', or make a contribution via a commuted payment to the additional infrastructure such as school places required by the scheme.

However, we should not think that this is the last application for the site ....
